With over two decades of experience in the fitness industry, Michael combines practical coaching expertise, business leadership, and educational excellence to support the future of healthy ageing through professional fitness education.

Through practical learning, global methodology, and a strong emphasis on safety and quality, the school prepares professionals to work confidently with increasingly diverse and ageing populations.
Michael has worked in the fitness industry since 2004, beginning his career as a Personal Trainer and Gym Instructor, with a strong focus on strength and conditioning for competitive teams and athletes.
A qualified swim teacher and swimming coach, Michael also coached at both club and inter-county level in Gaelic Football for his native county of Mayo and became the first qualified Swimsanity Instructor in the Republic of Ireland.
Alongside managing gyms and leisure facilities, he completed a Master’s degree in Business Strategy & Innovation Management, strengthening his expertise in leadership and business development.
In 2015, Michael co-founded MFitness, opening his own class-based gym, and later expanded his expertise into virtual coaching through LLA – Ladies Lifestyle Academy, a programme focused on women’s fitness and wellbeing.
Today, alongside his role as General Manager of ProFi Fitness School, Michael works as an Exam Assessor, helping educate and qualify the next generation of Personal Trainers and Gym Instructors in Ireland.

ProFi Fitness School Ireland is the first Irish education provider officially delivering the Active Ageing Expert® Advanced Certification Programme, focused on longevity, healthy ageing, safe movement, and internationally aligned education for adults and senior populations.
This certification fee covers the theoretical part of the Global Active Ageing Expert Certification and provides all required documentation to proceed to the practical stage, which is completed locally under supervision.
The practical part of the certification is carried out in the participant’s country of residence, under the supervision of:

Taken remotely, from anywhere in the world, in a secure online system.
✔ Full theoretical certification process

Necessary to complete the practical part of the certification under accredited supervision.

Printed on premium-quality paper and issued after completion and confirmation of 30 practical hours.
