Retirement should not mean stepping aside — it should be seen as a strategic transition into one of the most important phases of life. In this inspiring keynote, Dr. Bo Syrotiak challenges the traditional narrative around ageing and retirement, presenting a science-based approach to designing a healthier, more fulfilling future after fifty.
Drawing on her doctoral research and years of clinical and leadership experience, Dr. Bo will explore the essential pillars of thriving later life and explain how to build a personal “game plan” for physical, emotional, and cognitive wellbeing. Participants will learn what practical steps they can implement today to enjoy vitality, independence, and quality of life in the years ahead — rather than paying the price of poor long-term health habits.
Her presentation is grounded in her doctoral work:
“The Development of a Community-Based Occupational Therapy Retirement Transition Program for First Responders and Their Families” — completed at Texas Woman’s University and later published in two respected scientific journals in the United States.
Combining evidence-based science with practical insight, Dr. Bo will demonstrate how lessons from sports, healthcare, resilience, and occupational performance can be transformed into a sustainable strategy for healthy ageing.
Dr. Bo Syrotiak is a scientist, health expert, educator, and movement specialist redefining the way we think about long-term health and active ageing.
She holds a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy, specialising in retirement transition, healthy ageing, occupational adaptation, neuroscience, and preventive wellbeing. Her doctoral research focused on supporting first responders and their families in maintaining physical and mental wellbeing during the transition to retirement.
A true innovator in integrative health, Dr. Bo was among the early advocates bringing yoga into hospital environments in the United States as early as 2008. She managed a multidisciplinary rehabilitation department of more than 30 healthcare professionals in a California hospital, leading teams of physical therapists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists while integrating evidence-based movement and wellness strategies into care.
Throughout her career in the U.S., she taught yoga and meditation to physicians and healthcare professionals. Today, after returning to Poland, she works internationally as a Health Advisor for Maven Clinic in New York, supporting clients in building healthier, more sustainable lifestyles.
Through yoga, Pilates, and barre training, Dr. Bo teaches conscious movement, breath awareness, and safe physical practice designed for longevity — helping people move well, age well, and live without unnecessary pain.
Outside of her professional work, she is passionate about salsa dancing, animals, and nature, sharing her home with exotic birds, a Doberman, chickens, and a rescue cat brought back from the United States.
